My ministry revolves around being better leaders. The reason I talk about practical time management, taking a Sabbath and even exercise, is to point people to better balanced lives. Better balanced lives will lead to better leadership with authentic influence at work, and even more importantly, AT HOME! I’ve been part of a team at Purcellville Baptist Church that has developed a leadership program called Leaders for Life! This study teaches this simple truth, that leading entails influencing people to think, say and behave in ways that take them from one place to another. Leading can be formal (you hold a position of authority in a group) or informal (you influence people but don’t hold a position of authority). It is all too easy for a leader to get wrapped up in the “what, when and how” of leadership and miss what is even more important than the tangible results of completed tasks and goals met. One thing we have to accept…WE ARE ALL LEADERS!
Matthew 20:25-28 (NIV)
25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
So, What… for This Week?
