Over the last few weeks, I’ve talked about my personal faith walk of selling my house, as it forces me to live out what I preach and step out of my “comfort zone” into all that God has for me. As I look back at my life, I realize that I spent a large portion of my life chasing the wrong things. One of those things in my life was WEALTH. Looking back, I realize that I wasted a lot of my time in my 30’s and 40’s and missed out on the more important things in life…RELATIONSHIPS! Proverbs talks a lot about working smart, verses working hard and the following verse reminds us of that:
Proverbs 23:4-5 (NIV)
4 Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. 5 Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.
So, What… for This Week?
After losing Molly (wow, almost 10-years ago), I have a lot of regret over what I didn’t do and therefore, want to encourage you to take some practical steps to reprioritize TODAY! Instead of growing your worldly empire, focus on the more important things in life. Make some changes today, so you don’t look back with regret. Ask yourself the questions…What are YOU chasing? Read 1 Timothy 6:7 and remember, no matter what you build in THIS life (besides eternal relationships),YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU!
