Last week, I talked (once again) about your willingness to change. If you stop fighting and trust God, you can find peace. For so long, I have tried to be strong, resilient, indestructible, and more now than ever I realize that MY armor isn’t the right kind. We don’t have to be invincible in order to be whole. For it is only when you are open and vulnerable, willing to let change come, that you will be healed. I now know this is what we need, more than anything. Will you trust God? Will you let Him guide you forward? Sometimes going forward means looking back. Will you trust God to guide you back, too? Back to memories. Back, sometimes, to pain. Back to moments where you tried hard to avoid the root of the problem.
Psalm 103:2-3 (NIV)
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits–who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.
So, What… for This Week?
Will you let God touch the parts of your heart that hurt? The parts YOU try to hold together? It is made to break open–and it is made to become whole. God doesn’t breaks hearts, but He will mends them. What you know and what you remember and what you predict will happen next are largely determined by how open you are to possibility–or not. What you believe determines how you heal. Do you believe you matter? Do you believe it is worth spending time with God for the purpose of healing? This week, take a step toward God. Open up your heart and let His armor defend you against any threat. God’s Word, hope, and love will shield you so, as He heals you, you have nothing to fear!
Great thoughts here John, and by the way, I look forward to these videos from you each week. G-d Bless!
