So how do you do this…
Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to get you started:
- Choose a Set Time: Select a specific day and time each week for your family prayer meeting. This consistency will help create a routine and make it easier for everyone to participate.
- Find a Comfortable Space: Create a dedicated space in your home where your family can gather for prayer. It can be in the living room, around the dining table, or even outdoors.
- As hard as this might be, especially for guys, Begin with Worship: Start your meeting with worship songs or hymns. This will set a joyful and worshipful atmosphere, drawing everyone’s hearts closer to God.
- Share Prayer Requests: Encourage each family member to share their prayer requests and concerns that are specific to what happened LAST week and what is coming up THIS coming week. This creates an opportunity for open communication and mutual support within the family and makes PRAYER come alive as a regular tool used by the entire family
- Read and Reflect on the Bible: Choose a relevant Bible verse or passage for the week. Read it aloud and discuss its application in your daily lives.
- Pray Together: Engage in heartfelt prayer, taking turns praying for one another, your community, and the world. Encourage your children to pray for their friends, teachers, and anyone in need.
- End with Gratitude: Finish the meeting with a time of thanksgiving, expressing gratitude for God’s faithfulness and blessings in your lives.
