Do you feel as GOD speaks to you personally?  Maybe not with an audible voice, but does He communicate with you personally?  God’s had direct, personal, communicative relationships with many characters in the Bible. . . Abraham, Moses, Gideon, David, Paul…So what about you, though?  Many of us assume those guys were special and different from us, so, we decide God probably wants a different type of relationship with us—more indirect, impersonal, and non-reciprocal—go to church, read the Bible a bit, get on with our lives and then hit repeat. That would mean, though, that God’s purpose in bringing us stories of these men was to simply demonstrate something unattainable. Should we believe that? Or, could He have, through these stories, been showing us His father’s heart? Could it be that He wants that kind of relationship with you and me too, right now?

John 10:11 (NIV)

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

John 10:27 (NIV)

27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

I know Chris and Nathan have been challenged to do so throughs the Ignite Purpose class, but I hope ALL of you are making time to listen for God and trust He wants to speak to you!  In Scripture, He spoke with his own audible voice; through dreams and visions; through intermediaries, such as angels and other human beings; and directly into thoughts, using His “still, small voice.”  While most of these uses are admittedly rare, He often uses that still, small voice.  Are you making time to listen?  Do you recognized God’s “still, small voice?”

I hope this helps and you’ll take more time this week with God!

Love you!

Have a great week!
