In the fast-paced world we live in, waiting is often seen as a burden. However, the Bible teaches us that waiting on God’s timing is not a passive act, but an expression of faith and trust in God’s wisdom and sovereignty. The story of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 15-21, is a profound example of waiting on God’s promise of a child. Despite their doubts and human limitations, they learned to trust in God’s faithfulness and ultimately witnessed the fulfillment of His plan. The powerful verse below in Isaiah reminds us;
Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
So, What… for This Week?
Isaiah assures us that God’s timing is perfect, and when we trust in Him, He equips us to soar above challenges, run the race without weariness, and walk with unwavering faith. So, spend intentional time in prayer as a family, seeking God’s guidance and wisdom. Involve your children in age-appropriate conversations about waiting on God and trusting in His plans. Teach them to bring their desires and dreams before Him, seeking His direction in all aspects of life. Encourage your family to seek God’s will before making important decisions. Teach your children the value of patience and the importance of seeking God’s guidance in their choices. Model this behavior by involving them in family decision-making processes and showing them how to wait for God’s leading. Use the waiting season as an opportunity to nurture faith and character in your family. Encourage your children to develop virtues like perseverance, contentment, and trust in God’s goodness. Engage in Bible study, devotions, and discussions that highlight the stories of those who waited on God and experienced His faithfulness.
As you embark on the journey of waiting on God’s timing, remember that He is with you every step of the way. If you wait on God, you and your family will live, love and lead like Jesus and transform your entire community!
