A few weeks ago, I talked about hearing God and the fact that we don’t give Him time to talk!  We don’t give Him time, because we don’t HAVE time to give.  Everything in our world tells us to stay busy and instead of pleasing God, we end up pleasing our flesh (and the enemy) with our fast paced lives.  Have you ever considered saying “NO?”  Saying NO has always been hard for me, as I want to please everyone, but when our yes becomes MAYBE, we need to start realizing that we are lying half the time.  Maybe our default answer ought to be “NO” and then practice listening to God to see what He wants us to do!

Matthew 5:37 (NLT)

37 Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.

So, What… for This Week?

Assess your schedule this week.  What are your priorities and how do those priorities line up to that schedule?  Talk with those closest to you that are effected by your schedule and ask them if your YES means YES, or just MAYBE!  If so, start saying NO.  Spend more time in prayer asking God what He wants you to know and what He wants you to do!
