This week, we are starting a new season of Activate at PBC.  There are coed groups, men’s and women’s group that will ALL help you be the best leaders of your family, as YOU embark on a journey of self-discovery and purpose to be ALL God has designed you to be.  The stronger you are as an individual in Christ, the stronger you’ll be as a spouse and parent.  If you are operating out of pain and trauma of life and leaning on man-made coping mechanisms instead of the healing power of Jesus Christ, you’re going to hand that self-reliance down to your children.  Now is the time to open your heart for God’s ultimate healing, so you and your family will be living transformed lives that is promised in God’s Word!  This following verse underscores the importance of laying a strong foundation of faith and values in the lives of our children from an early age. By immersing them in God’s Word and modeling a life surrendered to Him, we set them on a path that leads to lasting spiritual fruitfulness.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

So, What… for This Week?

  • Prioritize Family Devotions: Set aside intentional time each day for family devotions where you read Scripture together, pray, and discuss its relevance to your lives. This practice not only strengthens your family’s bond but also deepens your children’s understanding of God’s Word.
  • Lead by Example: Be mindful of the example you set for your children through your words, actions, and attitudes. Let your life be a reflection of Christ’s love and character, inspiring your family to walk in His ways.
  • Foster Open Communication: Create a safe and nurturing environment where your children feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, questions, and struggles. Encourage open dialogue about faith, values, and life lessons, fostering a culture of honesty and authenticity.
  • Engage in Kingdom Service: Get involved in serving others as a family, whether it’s volunteering at a local shelter, participating in mission trips, or supporting community initiatives. By serving together, you not only impact the lives of others but also instill a heart of compassion and generosity in your children.
  • Seek Wise Counsel: Surround your family with mentors, pastors, and fellow believers who can offer guidance, support, and accountability on your Kingdom-minded journey. Seek out opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, and growth within your church community.

As we commit to nurturing Kingdom-minded families, let us trust in God’s grace and guidance every step of the way. May our homes be havens of love, faith, and purpose, shining brightly as beacons of God’s kingdom in a world longing for hope and transformation.
