Are YOU ready to learn, grow and change in 2022? One of my core values is “growth!” I want to see growth in every area of my life and in all the people I work with! Growth means some pain though. Every day we are presented with the opportunity to learn and grow and to connect self-awareness to action. Unwise people overlook these opportunities and wise people take full advantage of them. God wants us to have a humble heart and be open and even eager to learn, grow and change.

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
So, What… for This Week?
Do you want to capture your insights and implement an action plan to produce real growth? It starts with identifying a learning opportunity – it might be a challenge, issue, or maybe applying some new knowledge, insight, or information. After you’ve identified your learning opportunity, you put it through the GiANT CORE process.
Take a GiANT Next Step
First you “Call It” – identifying the cold, hard facts of the situation or insight. Then you “Own It” – drilling down deeper to understand the root cause, why this happened or why it is so. Even if someone else might have contributed to a particular issue, the key to this step is narrowing your focus and owning your specific role in the issue, not deciding how you’ll blame someone else. This represents “Knowing Yourself,” that I talked about a few weeks back. Next, it’s time to “Respond” which is building an action plan to address our situation or apply our newfound knowledge. Finally, the last step is to “Execute” – we establish a deadline, clear expectations for our actions, and identify someone to hold us accountable. Then do it. This is how we “Lead Ourselves.” Use this tool daily and you’ll start making wiser, more effective, and healthier decisions.
