Wow, I could talk all day about waiting on God’s perfect timing.  Sadly, I would be talking about what I didn’t do most of my life!  Some would say that I’m a bit impatient…Just a little bit.  I’ve never been one to sit by and wait for anything, and I know a lot of men who could say the same thing.  The problem with my lack of willingness to wait is that it has been rooted in both fear and pride.  As a boy, I was raised to make my own way and taught that if I didn’t MAKE something happen for myself, no one else would.  So when I saw something I wanted, I would do whatever it took to go get it.  It’s taken me 60+ years to learn that I’m not in charge and God is.  I’ve NEVER been in charge and my time is God’s time.  I don’t need to live in fear of missing an opportunity and I’ve had to learn that not everything in life is up to me.  One of the hardest things to do still is to wait, trust God and let Him step me into my appointed times.

Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV)

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.

So, What… for This Week?

Start with seeking God’s guidance. Take intentional time to seek God’s guidance through prayer and studying His Word. Ask Him to reveal His perfect timing and align your desires with His purpose for your life. Trust that God’s plans are always better than our own.

Cultivate patience, by understanding that waiting does not mean inactivity, but rather a season of preparation and growth. Use this time to develop your character, skills, and spiritual maturity. Surrender your timelines to God, knowing that He is working all things together for your good. Trust in God’s faithfulness by reflecting on past moments when God’s timing proved perfect, even if it didn’t align with your initial expectations. Surround yourself with a community of like-minded men who can provide support, encouragement, and accountability. Share your journey of waiting with trusted friends or mentors who can walk alongside you. Together, you can uplift one another, offer guidance, and celebrate milestones as you wait on God’s timing.  So guys, embrace the wisdom of patience, seek God’s guidance, and trust in His faithfulness, so you can learn to live, love and lead like Jesus. Activate this teaching today, and watch as God unfolds His plan in the perfect timing.
