How do you know if God is speaking to you? Most of us don’t give Him the time to speak and then simply assume that He WON’T speak to us. Only the really spiritual people can hear from God, right? That is what I used to think, but now I realize more than ever that God created us for connection, because it’s in that closeness with Jesus that we learn how to partner with Him in healing ourselves and reaching this world. When we are in regular communion with Him, He teaches us how to see like He does. Do not be afraid to be alone in silence; In His presence. Do not be afraid to sit and be in solitude–to sometimes keep just your own company. It is not a boring place; it can be a thrilling one.
Psalm 40:10 (NIV)
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.
So, What… for This Week?
This week, practice being with God FIRST–and then be in the world. Through being with Him, He will show you how the current world is going to be so much more–how it will be healed and whole. Will you let Him teach you how to see the way He does, hear the way He hears, love the way He loves? You are equipped to love others because God first loved you. So in the quiet, let Him love you. Then, in the chaotic spaces of this world, stay with Him. Take what you learn from Him in the quiet and bring it to the world. You will practice experiencing the impossible. You will see miracles. You will see Him work.
Thanks John, Great topic and lesson,
