Most of my recent messages have had a theme of “falling back” and not “pushing forward.”  I need to be constantly reminded to not PLOW ahead with my own agenda and wait for God, knowing that He is in charge of everything anyway.  It’s a minute-by-minute decision making process to really trust God and not take back control.  We think control is a good thing, but in essence, God never expected for us to be in control, since that is HIS JOB!  Other people in our life also know when we are trying to control them, even if it’s disguised in love.  Most times, that control is fear based because we ultimately don’t trust God to handle it all.  The Scripture below is always a startling reminder of someone who is controlling (Martha) verses someone who goes with the flow of the Holy Spirit (Mary).

Luke 10:38-42 (NIV)

At the Home of Martha and Mary

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”  41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Are you too focused on CONTROL, or are you submitting to God’s control?  It sounds backwards, but trust God and fall into His arms to move forward! .

I hope this helps and you’ll take more time this week with God!

Love you!

Have a great week!
